A Call to Worship
Epiphany 2C 2010
Psalm 36: 5-10

O Lord our God, your love is forever!
God’s love is steadfast and sure!
How precious is your unfailing love, O God!

God continues to pour out love and mercy,
and offers shelter in the shadow of God’s presence.
We are secure in God’s love and light.

God’s love and faithfulness is beyond measure,
and is like an overflowing fountain of life and love,
Our God is the light by which we can safely travel.
Come, let us worship our loving God. Amen.

Prayers of AAAA and BBBB
Epiphany 2C 2010
Psalm 36: 5-10

O Lord our God, we give thanks that your love
is unfailing, that it is beyond comprehension—
even beyond measure; and it is so very precious
to all people who respond to God’s love.
We give thanks that the ways of God are upright,
honest and sincere, and that these ways of God
are expressed through justice and mercy,
and through God’s care of all creation.

O Lord our God, we pray with love and sincerity
for the people of the world in which we live.
Amongst many people there is a lack of concern
or interest about the deeper things of their inner spirit.

Loving God, we pray for people who do not know
that God’s precious love is available to them,
and that there is always plenty of room for them
to shelter within the shadow of God’s loving presence.
O Lord, pour out your love and light, in all its
abundance upon people still walking in the dark.
Lord, if only people would respond to God’s generosity
and seek to walk in God’s way of honesty and justice!

O Lord our God, we rejoice in your mercy and love,
and we praise your holy name for your generosity.
Your grace and love are beyond our understanding!
How precious it is to us who love you and seek to honour
you and your ways of justice. Lord, hear our prayers. Amen.

A Personal Meditation
Epiphany 2C 2010
Psalm 36: 5-10

O Lord my God, I rejoice in your love, so generously given
not only to me, but all other people without any limitations.
O Lord, whilst I give thanks for that love, my heart hurts
for people who turn away from that generosity,
and who dismiss God’s love as not being important
in their personal life. How can they be so misguided?
How can I share with them the good news of God’s love
in ways that make an impact on them?

Creative pause: Through my daily living?

All humanity can find shelter within God’s care
if they wish, but they so often ignore that opportunity.
How precious is your love, my God, but they dismiss it
as if it was irrelevant to them and their life.
Do they not realise how empty their lives really are?
How can I share with them the good news of God’s love
in ways that make an impact on them?

Creative pause: Through my daily loving?

Through God’s generosity, all people live from the abundance
of God’s provision, but do they think of that and give thanks?
Great and generous God, you are the fountain of life,
love and light, which freely flows for all who immerse themselves
in its flow. Your light of life will surely show them the path
to a life of integrity, honesty, mercy and justice,
which will enrich all with whom they come in contact.
But is that an attractive proposition to them?
How can I share with them the good news of God’s love
in ways that make an impact on them?

Creative pause: Through my prayers for them?
